After shortlisting a few photographers, do check out their work and their style of work.If the pictures you see in their portfolio matches what you desire to achieve for you, that is a good start. Do not just simply believe someone who talks you into giving you a wonderful photoshoot but his folio has nothing substantial to show for it.

2. Check out the package details. Do not be fooled by the endless number of images one promises to deliver. Generally a professional photographer would deliver 40-50 images from a newborn or maternity session and that would be worth it. So rather checkout the quality of their work and not run after quantity.
